Denver Center for the Performing Arts
Celebrating more opportunities this winter! If acting is your work or how you play, our classes keep your fundamentals fresh while offering brand new techniques. Since our inception in 1979, the Denver Center for the Performing Arts has helped nearly 3 million students through a variety of educational programs. We believe in the power of theatre to build better communities. Our teachers have the professional experience in the industry to get you to where you want to go. Let them help you get your first experience on the stage, become a more confident speaker at the office, or fortify an already successful acting career. When you love theatre as much as we do, there’s always room to learn more.
For eager and imaginative students as young as three to high schoolers taking the first step towards a theatre career, our classes fuel creativity and reinforce the tools to help all skill levels improve and develop their acting craft. No need to go to New York for the best that Broadway has to offer. We bring the shows to you! Known for having the best patrons in the business, we’re regularly chosen to launch national tours such as The Book of Mormon and Pippin. Plus, our audiences occasionally have the first chance to see shows like Disney’s Frozen and The Little Mermaid before they make it big on Broadway. World-renowned blockbusters including Hamilton, Wicked and Disney’s The Lion King keep rolling into Denver thanks to you! The history of the DCPA intertwines with that of the Denver Performing Arts Complex. Both were ideas that blossomed from an original dream shared by philanthropist, Denver Post owner and occasional-actress Helen G. Bonfils and Wall Street lawyer and Broadway producer Donald R. Seawell.
